How do I know my paper/hard drives have been shredded?

All customers can have a certificate of destruction. On the certificate you will find the quantity of bags/boxes of paper or quantity of hard drives which were shredded. You can also watch your paper and hard drives being shredded for peace of mind at our premises at 10 Windle Court, Clayhill Industrial Park, Neston, Cheshire, CH64 3UH.

What happens to my paper once it has been shredded?

All paper is baled for further security and then palletised. We then send it to a local recycling firm who distributes it to paper mills for recycling.

What happens to my hard drives once they have been shredded?

All hard drives are shredded and then put into a huge container mixed with other shredded metal. All shredded metal is then recycled.

What are my payment options?

We accept card, cash or we can invoice (payment terms are 30 days).

Can I use my own bags or containers?

Yes, UShred is happy to provide you with sacks if you need but if you would prefer to bring it in your own containers that is fine. A quote will be provided before it is shredded, we base our prices on £10 + VAT per 16kg.

Do you provide sacks or containers?

We can provide specific UShred sacks for customers to collect and fill with their confidential paperwork. These shredding bags are free of charge on collection and you pay when they are brought back to the premises for the amount you have used.

Can I watch my paper and/or hard drives being shredded?

We understand that some customers will want to watch their paper and/or hard drives being shredded. Please call in advance so we can ensure that a shredder trained operator will be available when you arrive and then you can watch all your paper and/or hard drives being shredded. We can also email you a certificate of destruction.

Can you collect out of your normal working hours?

Yes, if you phone or email us we find a convenient time. This may be earlier in the morning or later in the evening. We can also open on a Saturday for specific requests.

Do you recycle/shred other items for example IT equipment?

Yes, we can shred:

CD’s/DVD’s
Computers/Laptops (we can remove the hard drives and shred them)
Memory Sticks

However these items must be in separate bags and not mixed with the paper.

What are your opening hours?

Monday – Friday : 9:00 – 4:30pm

We ask that all paper and hard drives are dropped off by 4pm for shredding.

Other times can be requested.

Unit 10 Windle Court, Clayhill Industrial Park, Neston, CH64 3UH.

Once you are on the Clayhill Industrial Park, follow the road and on the left you will see the entrance to Windle Court. We are unit 10 on the court.
