How does it work?
Shredding services have warehouses that contain industrial shredders – it means that we can shred paperwork and other items a lot quicker than the small office shredders that take 5 sheets at a time. (Our shredder at UShred can take up to 500 sheets of paper for shredding in one go)!
Customers bring their commercial or domestic paperwork to the premises or have a collection of paperwork and the shredding business will bring it back to the factory where all items are shredded.
Our shredding service can shred for both domestic and comercial customers:
- Paperwork
- Hard drives from laptops/computers
- Memory sticks
- Cd’s
And there are other shredding services that shred even more such as clothing and tyres.

How much does a shredding service cost?
Our prices, correct for June 2024:
- £12.50 per ushred bag of paper
- £9.50 per archive box of paper
- £10 per hard drive
- £6 to remove hard drive from laptop/computer (if required)
- £2 per memory stick
- £2 per CD
What happens to the paper once it has been shredded?
All shredded paperwork gets baled which further increases the security of your data. Bales are then palletised and sent for recycling. This ensures that shredding services are secure as well as being environmentally-friendly and a suistainable option.
Can I wait whilst my paper and hard drives are shredded?
Some office shredding services do provide this option – we do at UShred. Just call to book in an appointment and one of our team will ensure that you can wait whilst all your paperwork, hard drives and memory sticks are shredded.

Is it ad-hoc or regular shredding services?
It can be either!
If you want ad-hoc office shredding, just drop off or call to book in a collection whenever you have your items ready for shredding.
If you want regular collections for your workplace we can collect bags/boxes monthly or our shredding cabinet service with monthly collections may be of use. More details can be found on our secure shredding cabinet page here.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes – it shows that you have securely shredded your confidential items and helps to protect yourself and others from fraud.
We provide a certificate of destruction for your business records as well which state how many bags/boxes of paper are shredded and how many hard drives, memory sticks and CD’s are shredded with the date of shredding. (This will be same day as drop off/collection).
